WHAT THE CARE EQUALITY CORPORATE NETWORK IS

We turn care equality into a data-driven, measurable and lasting corporate transformation.

The Care Equality Corporate Network is a collaboration platform established to make the invisible care work and mental load within the household visible, and to support companies in achieving an equitable, sustainable transformation in this field.

The network was launched under the leadership of Özyeğin University, in collaboration with TÜSİAD. It is built on Özyeğin University's research “The Impact of Care Work and Mental Load on White-Collar Employees”.

The Care Equality Corporate Network is a platform that aims to make the effects of care work and the mental load on working life visible, to support a fairer sharing of care responsibilities, to encourage the development of care-friendly workplace policies and practices, and to strengthen shared learning and collaboration among companies.

The network's purpose is to spread the understanding that care is a shared responsibility not only of individuals but also of institutions and society; and to strengthen employee wellbeing and social sustainability by leading the development of workplace cultures that support care equality.

THE KEY TO THE SOLUTION

How can the loss of workforce and productivity be prevented?

Three factors that determine whether the loss is prevented.

Awareness
The organisation being aware of its employees' care work and mental load.
Supportive leadership
Leaders and managers adopting a supportive attitude.
Inclusive policies
Developing policies that cover different types of care, such as childcare, elderly care, disability care and pet care.
OUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE SOLUTION

How do we contribute to the solution as a network?

The first condition of a solution is defining the problem with concrete data. The lack of data is the greatest obstacle keeping the issue invisible; once measurement takes place, the problem becomes concrete and manageable. Companies joining the network progress in four steps, with the academic advisory support of Özyeğin University:

01
Assessment through data
Sets out employees' caregiving profile with data; compares the current situation with the national level data.
02
Evaluation & collaboration
Brings experts together with a representative appointed by the company; evaluates the current situation and identifies areas for collaboration.
03
Training & data systems
Strengthens awareness through training and workshops; designs data-driven support systems.
04
Pilot & evaluation
Draws the road map for a pilot project, implements it with academic advisory support and evaluates progress mutually.
